Why ISO Gap Analysis is Critical

ISO Gap Analysis is set of questions used to access ISO standard requirements vs. individual organizational standing. This analysis is best way to find the gaps in system and construct the so called bridges. It takes the process from current stage to future stage (Compliance or Certification).

ISO Gap Analysis is the first step towards either compliance or certification. Whether an internal team is appointed or consulting service is procured the process starting point is formed by this analysis.

A well performed ISO Gap Analysis will cover all the sections and clauses of Quality Standard. No information is small. Each department head will be asked to help fill the form with questions pertinent to their process and interactions. Departments need to be assured about the benefits of the process and any questions or concerns raised be answered.

After the completion of process a comprehensive report is generated and it becomes the initiation point for the project plan. The report gives information about processes that comply with standard, which are not yet documented, processes that do not comply with standard and need to be designed and finally processes that are not in place.

The reporting of ISO Gap Analysis will give a proper timeline for the project plan and cost incurred. Management uses this as a tool to align resources, schedule processes and projects to accommodate the Certification/Compliance process.
